VETTA Capsule Collection

“So you can look good by doing good” – VETTAVETTA 1

Last spring, a friend tagged me on Facebook about a Kickstarter project that two girls, Cara Bartlett + Vanessa vanZyl, were attempting to fund and it caught my eye immediately! As half of a duo trying to “make it” in the fashion world, I really appreciated what the girls were doing with their VETTA Capsule collection. Not only does their minimalistic and perfectly chic collection perfectly fit our aesthetic, but the main goal of VETTA is to create eco-friendly clothing. (more…)

Girl Talk

ASOS Skirt 6

There are quite a few things (aka one million) that need to be done in preparation before Fashion Week. So far, I’ve talked about one of my favorite fall trends that will make the trip with us, but there are SO many more factors that go into these bi-annual trips.  We are currently in the midst of planning for shows, parties, brand events, etc but to be honest, one of my most favorite things about the trip is the hotel sleepovers with Cath. In the morning and every night before bed we get to talk about the day, about our goals, about various other TCP goings on and also just have plain old girl talk. (more…)

My Fall Uniform

Cropped Jeans 3Well, it was another 100 degree weekend here in Richmond, and you would never know that summer is coming to an end, but alas, it is. As much as I hate the idea of the pool closing after labor day and summer tan fading away as winter approaches, there are plenty of things to look forward to in the Fall months.  Most importantly, of course, is New York Fashion Week. We are already starting to get our affairs in order for our bi-annual trek up north, which also means getting our closets in order and picking out our favorite pieces for the season.

Monday Dreams

“What you imagine, you create”
-Buddha Nasty Gal White 7

With the Olympics omnipresent on tv these days, it reminds me that there are some things in life that I have gotten past the point of achieving. Not that I am ANY sort of athlete – the closest I can claim is a ballerina – but it just brings those thoughts to the forefront of the mind. I will never compete in the Olympic games. Similarly, I will never be a stand out high school or college athlete as I’m in my late twenties and I will probably never become a pop singing sensation or a contestant on a reality show. (more of a self preference for that last one.)

Summer Heat + FILA

“Sometimes the ordinary things could be made extraordinary, simply by doing them with the right people.”

Nicholas Sparks FILA 1

It has been so unbearably hot these past few weeks and it has been so tempting to just hole up in our air conditioned living room and binge watch Netflix, Hulu and HBO with a bottle of wine.  (Don’t get me wrong, there has been plenty of that )  However, there are a few summer traditions that our friends have that we do our best to repeat every year, regardless of the desert conditions and the humid Virginia air.

Year 1 as a Piersol

“Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing at all.”

*warning:semi-sappy post ahead*  Today marks John & my first wedding anniversary and the year has seriously flown by. Our first year was full of so many new and fun adventures, including, as most of you know by now, buying a house!  (See above photo for my exact feelings on the subject).  We decided to turn the whole weekend into a mini celebration here in Richmond, since we weren’t able to make it back up to The Homestead.

Summer Set

Blue Set 6I am just on top of the world on this July Monday. Even though I’m still nursing a bit of a hangover from our big party on Saturday night, I am feeling so very thankful and lucky. We introduced all of our friends and family to our new home and I am just overwhelmed by the love and support we have around us. 50 or more people from all different aspects of our lives showed up to help us stock the bar, play some cornhole and mostly just chat and carry on for hours and and hours. It was a great excuse to get all of our different friend groups together on a hot, HOT summer night.  If I do say so myself, we threw a hell of a party!

Kitchen Decor with Minted

Redecorate with MintedAs I have mentioned on here recently, John and I recently moved into our first home, and boy, has it been a roller coaster. We are having our housewarming party this weekend and I have been running around like a crazy woman trying to get things just the way we want them. Thankfully, the kitchen is looking positively awesome thanks to these awesome new prints from Minted.  When trying to decide what we wanted to do with each room, I knew that this little corner of our kitchen needed to catch your eye right when you walk in the door.

30A Getaway

FL14Ever since I was a little girl, we have been vacationing in the panhandle on the beautiful Gulf Coast of Florida. My grandad lived there for as long as I can remember and all of my best memories are from riding bikes in the summer, beach-ing for hours with my sister and best friend, Anna, every summer.  It has been a few years since I had spent the week down there, and boy, it was just as great as I remember it. It was really awesome for our family to be able to cut out a few days of our busy schedules to have a mini-reunion of sorts.  It also was a time for celebration, as my sister, Caroline, recently got engaged and we are in the throws of all of the planning! Another special part of the trip was being able to share this special place and loads of memories with my husband, John. (more…)
