Ellena Dress

grand-bo-8

This weekend I was in Birmingham for my sister’s engagement party and after a weekend full of endless celebrations and airports, you could say I am a little tired today.  Well, I’m usually a little tired on Mondays, but who isn’t?  (more…)

Wonder Cape

Well, friends, it is finally winter here in good old V-A. Frost on the car, temperatures in the 30s and all of the other misery that the windy cold brings along with it. That being said – lets back track justtttt a little. Fall in Virginia is a tricky tricky time; one day it is 70 degrees and you’re wearing cutoffs and the next day you are bundling up in your coziest sweater because it is 45. However, I am constantly forgetting to check the weather before I get dressed in the morning, resulting in tons of grumbling and complaining to myself as I walk to the car to head to work.  (more…)

Amazfit

Confession: I am lazy. Well, I wouldn’t say lazy. Rather, I would say that I despise working out. Despise. However, I like all of the things that are involved in working out – specifically the clothes.  So I do what any other fashion girl who loves workout clothes would do – seamlessly work them into my every day wardrobe.  These leggings are my most recent favorite fake work out gear and I cannot get enough of them. Do yourself a favor and check out all of the amazing patterns that they come in.  You’ll need more than one pair.

Along the same lines, I have always liked the idea of a 24/7 fitness tracker but I just did not like the way that they looked. Enter: Amazfit to solve all of my problems.  Not only is it’s ceramic core based accessory extremely fashionable but the price point is a serious game changer.  For under $100, you can get any number of styles, black or white, to step up your fitness awareness.  (more…)

*I feel like I start a lot of posts like this but…*
One of my favorite things about being a blogger is getting to work with brands that otherwise would not be on our day to day radar. (No offense to H&M, Zara, Forever 21 & Free People because we love those brands, of course). From local jewelry designers to companies trying to make a splash with one simple piece to amazingly crafted wears from designers abroad, we’ve been exposed to some seriously talented folks and I love getting to write about it on here.

Squar’d Away

*Coming to you this week from our Cul de Sac across the river*dezzal-8

The great part about being a blogger duo is that we’ve always got each other to help shoot, pick out outfits, swap shoes and bags and give style and posing tips while we shoot. However, our busy little lives sometimes get in the way and then, I must turn to my other, other half. Luckily for me, my husband John, has embraced his position of Mr. Crystal Press from day one and is always there to step up when I need him. Afterall, what kind of high school English teacher doesn’t want to be his fashion blogger wife’s photographer on a beautiful Saturday afternoon? (more…)

Midsummer Dreaming into Fall

This jumpsuit is named adequately “Midsummer’s Dream” and I sure do feel like I’m a little fairy flitting thru the woods when I’m wearing it. Literally, it makes me want to prance around.  However, we have said goodbye to the dog days of summer and are making our way well into fall here in #RVA.  This morning I woke up and it was so chilly, I almost had to put on a jacket. As cliche as it is to say, how is it seriously almost mid-October?!  (more…)

Tibi Bell Sleeve Dress

It’s no secret that my motivation to become a blogger is rooted in my discovery of Tibi and designer, Amy Smilovic, 6 years ago. I have loved watching the evolution of the brand and I know that each and every season, there is going to be something new and interesting. I have pieces in my closet (a pair of Mary Janes, a Jumpsuit) that are among some of my first Tibi pieces and I don’t think I will ever have the heart to throw them out, even when they are worn completely through. They help to serve as a constant reminder of where this whole adventure began and I’ve grown so accustomed to seeing them on a daily basis.

Ok, get to the point Rebecca…  (more…)

An Ode to Basics

img_2509Packing for Fashion Week is always SUCH a struggle. (Yes, I know this is a seriously cliche fashion blogger statement, but just bear with me).

This season, I knew I had to have some sort of strategy so as to not go totally insane during the process.  To make matters worse, I just moved into our new house this summer and my clothes are EVERYWHERE; downstairs closets, upstairs closets, the attic, my car and yes, even at Catherine’s house.  It’s always tempting to pack all of your ‘HEY LOOK AT ME’ pieces when heading to New York so as to capture the eyes (lenses) of the Street Style photogs and in our instance, yes, Cath and I would like to think of ourselves as the next Caroline Vreeland and Shea Marie. Chanel Boy Bag

Every girl has a dream bag. You know, that bag that you have been pining for since it was first released? You know, the one that you beg your husband to get you for years, knowing it probably will never happen? For me, that bag is this black Chanel Boy Bag.  However, I didn’t have to break the bank entirely in order to carry this beauty with me during NYFW last week thanks to Bag, Borrow or Steal!  Not only is this bag the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, but it was also the PERFECT size to carry during those long days in New York, going from show to show.  It perfectly held my lipstick, rosewater spray and cell phone which are, according to moi, the fashion week essentials.

We have entered the final countdown to NYFW and in a mere 48 hours we will be boarding a plane, headed toward America’s favorite Fashion City.  The thought of packing right now is making my head spin, but I know that when our bags are packed and we are touching down at JFK, it will all be worth it.
