Quarantine, but make it fashion
What a crazy roller coaster the past 3 months have been! For us, and for the entire world. Baby Phoenix was born on March 3rd, right before we all went into quarantine, helping us mark the time we have been staying at home. I can’t exactly speak for Cath when I describe how becoming a new mother during a pandemic has been – I’ll let her do that when she’s ready – but I can give you an update on how we are / have been during this time.
Catherine has obviously been on maternity leave, and for the first two months I was working my day job at home! I think it’s safe to say that we both went a little stir crazy at times, like everyone else. Catherine, adjusting to life with a newborn at home and me trying to work at home while my husband had zoom calls with his students.
Throughout past three months, though, we have learned some valuable lessons, spent some quality time together with each other and our families and are adjusting to a slower paced lifestyle.

We have taken this time to learn more about ourselves.
We have spent more time meditating.
We have embraced going on long walks through Catherine’s neighborhood instead of sitting at a bar for happy hour.
We have learned more about how we exist within the universe. {See Cath’s full moon ritual here}
We have learned to love creating when we feel inspired, rather than when we feel pressured to. {Read about Reb’s Isolation Creation here}
We have learned to appreciate little victories like cleaning the house and getting out of bed before 10.
We have learned that it is okay to just take a break sometimes.
We have learned that every day doesn’t have to be the most productive day in history.
New Sunnies for Summer
LAST and most importantly ~ With the ongoing struggles with systemic racism in this country, we are vowing to continue to educate ourselves on how we can make sure that Phoenix and other little loved ones will grow up in an inclusive, more peaceful, less hateful world.

June 12, 2020 at 5:20 pm (4 years ago)You two had totally different quarantine experiences, and it goes to show that everyone’s quarantine was likely difficult and hard to adjust to in their own way. It’s been hard being inside for so long!
