Quarantine. Lock down. Shelter in Place. We may be past the “worst” of the pandemic but we are still spending more time in our homes than we are used to. If you are like us, this means you are burning WAY more candles than usual. In one of my group texts today we were all discussing our candle habits and sharing our favorite candles, which prompted me to write this blog post!!
As my good friend Tim said: “Everyone is working from home now so now is the perfect time to get into candles. Plus it can relieve some stress and anxiety that our world is experiencing.”
And he was spot on. A good candle can seriously improve our home environments and if we have multiple candles in rotation it can change things up a bit each day! We have to get creative in these unprecedented times, right? So, we are sharing some of our favorite candles with you guys. From luxurious diptyque fragrances to Cath’s go-to Target fave, there is something for everyone in this candle round up! I just snagged a few of the Anthro candles on sale at Nordstrom and am anxiously awaiting their arrival. Happy Shopping!
Another recent favorite of ours is this Jar Candle from Voluspa. Our current favorite scents include Mokara & French Cade Lavender.
You guys know that I help my mom out with her Turkish Towel company, Let’s Talk Towels and we recently added candles and soaps to our arsenal! They come in 4 scents: Rebee, Jacquard, Diamond and Nazar. I’m working on getting them up on the website right now, but until then, shoot us a message via the website if you’re interested.
A favorite local candle of mine, given to by one of my best friends, is Na Nin’s Amalfi Coast. He actually gave out candles from them as a wedding goodies! Not a Richmonder? No problem. They’ve got lots of candle options online, too!
In true candle lover fashion, Catherine gave us all mini diptyque candles on her wedding day! I am still saving mine {roses} and have only burned it once. Call me sentimental.

March 30, 2020 at 9:21 am (5 years ago)My only wish is that candle companies would stop using soy wax in their candles. Not only is it actually *not* a good alternative for the average individual (as much as people like to think it is), but I’m highly allergic to it, and therefore have had to give up candles almost entirely. It’s a rare occasion when I find one that isn’t made of soy, and then it’s a very exciting day haha!
