Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, AZ

The Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, AZ was the perfect desert getaway for Kevin and I. We were in Tucson for a wedding (which was absolutely lovely by the way) and can’t say better things about this city in AZ. In fact, we wish we had gotten to stay longer to explore the beauty of this city more!

Our flight got in around 10 am on the day we arrived and Loews was able to accommodate our early arrival so that we could get changed to go enjoy the pool. Kevin and I were so elated after hours of travel (we woke up at 4 am) to be able to access our room. We understand that this is not always the case and is due to a hotel’s availability, but we appreciate it when it is and when the hotel is doing it’s best to meet your needs as a guest. Loews handled our early arrival with grace!
I had been ewing and awing over this property since we booked our travels to Tucson and could not wait to get to the pool. The pool is surrounded by beautiful desert canyons and vegetation and it’s absolutely beautiful. Any chance we got to spend time at the pool, you can bet we did so. My first drink was a prickly pear Pina colada and let me just tell you – it was absolutely delicious. The scenery didn’t hurt either.

One thing Kevin also loved about the pool area was the cold plunge. Near the hot tub, there is a cold plunge where a mountain spring pours into. The temperature is around 40 degrees and will wake you up in a jiffy! Kevin jumped in that in the morning to get his day started and loved it. However, I wasn’t up for the task and also didn’t feel like washing my hair. Feel me?
Since we had wedding festivities during our stay, my meals at Loews were limited but every dish I ate was delightful. I had 2 of their salads by the pool (one of the salads had an avocado stuffed with warm burrata and chimichuri sauce, SWOON) and I enjoyed the 24 hour room service – maybe a little too much. I tried buffalo chicken wings and my go-to room service snack, chicken noodle soup, and both were up to par.
Loews offered me a massage at their spa – and I’m sure you saw on my @cathclaire instagram stories – but it was one of the best I ever had. I had the Swedish 50 min massage and I totally agree with Conde Nast’s award to this Loews resort as being Top 100 Resort Spas.
In addition to the spa and pool area, Loews has 2 Tom Fazio designed PGA golf courses for my golf lovers, a very sizable gym, 2 heated pools, a jacuzzi, and the cold plunge. There are several dining options with farm fresh ingredients, don’t forget about the yummy poolside salads I mentioned! P. S Because this is a resort property with so many amenities , keep in mind that in addition to the nightly rate – there is a resort fee of $26 dollars.

Next time Kev and I travel to Tucson, we hope to have a longer stay to get to enjoy the area a little bit more! Thanks to Loews Ventana Canyon (and the lovely bride and groom) for creating an experience that makes us want to go back ASAP!

xo,

Cath
