We are so excited to finally reveal our two container store projects with you guys here on the blog.
We were so excited to find out that The Container Store was coming to Short Pump, outside of Richmond, as we have both had goals for a while about getting more organized in our office / closet spaces. Catherine has only been in her house for about a year and a half, and even though I have been in mine for 5, it is still a work in progress. So we were even more thrilled when The Container Store wanted to collaborate with us around the launch of their new store.
When you think new closet, or new office, you think square room, full walls, etc. Well, neither of our spaces fit that criteria, so we all had to get creative. Catherine’s house is a cape, so her space has slanted ceilings, and mine is a loft which was even more complicated.
We both wanted practical, but aesthetically pleasing, designs to elevate our spaces and store some of our miscellaneous clothes, accessories and products. After seeing our spaces via photographs, our Container Store designer came to us with her initial designs and we all hopped on a zoom call. After talking through how we envisioned our space and the aesthetics, and how we would utilize the Elfa Closet System, we settled on what you see below.
Once we got the bones of our designs, we got to do the fun part: accessorize! I stopped into the Container Store for the Grand Opening, so that I could get a feel IRL for the pieces that I had eyed on their website. From there we both took a few weeks to check out the entire Container Store selection to be sure we were choosing exactly the right storage & display for our items. If you are lucky enough to have a Container Store near you, I highly recommend going in-store first, because the number of options alone can be overwhelming!
~ OUR FAVORITE CONTAINER STORE STORAGE ACCESSORIES ~
We both chose pieces from the Luxe Acrylic Modular Make-Up System and love the way our product setups look. You can see everything, but it still looks chic, because, aesthetics.
I am obsessed with my new Stackers jewelry box — and they are on sale right now! I have 3 different layers: one for earrings and rings, one for necklaces and the top one has a combination of sections. It has made my life so much easier, as I used to store my jewelry in random places and could never find anything. Highlyyyyyy recommend if you need to get your accessories organized.
I just LOVE the File Organizer / Acrylic Bookend that Catherine chose. It is dramatic & practical at the same time. I also love the combination of different sized black boxes with the palm leaf bins. Chic, minimalist & stylish with plenty of space for storage.

The Container Store designers and everyone we worked with on this project were beyond knowledgeable and made the process much easier for us, especially given our complicated spaces. We highly recommend them if you are looking to organize or revamp any space in your house!
