We have clearly been having an ongoing love affair with red for quite some time. I posted about red dresses for summer a couple of months ago, Catherine wrote about shopping affordable red pieces back in March and if you follow along with us on instagram, red has been the pop of color per choice for quite some time now!
In the name of authenticity, we are still wearing red, so we are going to keep posting about red. Everyone else may be writing about “sweaters for fall!” and “best trenches for the season” — and we will of course be doing that eventually, but for now our natural instinct is to post about whats relevant to us atm. How many times did I said red in this post? Let’s see, 5 already and there’s no end in sight. Read on for how to wear the red trend three ways as we transition into fall.
Earlier in the summer, I worked on a collaboration with Nasty Gal and scored these fabulous booties + button down pictured here as well as this pair of rad denim. Unfortunately, the booties and top have since sold out, but the good news for you guys is that Nasty Gal is currently doing 50% off EVERYTHING on their site. Yes, EVERYTHING. *Use code GIMME50*
We’ve only got a few weeks left of summer, so it’s time to start thinking about transition pieces and layering. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite clothing items, as well as accessories for you guys. These prices are NO JOKE, so do yourself a favor and treat yourself to some staples that can carry you through the fall.
I just ordered these sneaks, and I’m pretttttttty excited.
PS. I reallyyyy wanted to post these photos on here, even though the outfit was sold out, because they capture two of my favorite places at the Homestead. We had our pre-reception cocktail party in the marble hall and it was perfection!! The black and white floor nook is where John and his groomsmen stood before the ceremony, watching all of our guests arrive. You know I can’t miss out on a sappy moment to talk about our wedding day, so there we have it folks!
THE WEEK HAS FINALLY COME! Ever since we missed out on the 1989 Tour, we vowed that we wouldn’t miss Taylor Swift’s next tour. Luckily, my sister helped us snag some tickets during the Pre-Sale and we will be Atlanta Bound this weekend to see the Reputation Stadium Tour. To say that we are excited is an understatement.
For weeks, we have been talking about what we are going to wear. Do we do the twinning thing? Do we recreate the two album magazine tour looks? Do we just wear Taylor gear? This has been a serious back and forth. Finally, last week, we decided to do a little bit of all of it. Catherine found this ‘Gorgeous’ tee on ASOS, and I purchased the sweatshirt from her Merch shop and created a look that is an ode to her Gucci Sweatshirt / OTK Boots look from the Look What You Made Me Do video. Cath added the sequin skirt as the perfect statement piece to top off her look.
Who else has caught the Reputation Stadium Tour this summer? No spoilers – but – how was it!? Anyone going to be at the show in Atlanta this weekend? Drop a note in the comments!
If you follow us on Instagram, you saw that when I first got this jumpsuit in the mail, it did not look like it looked on the ASOS model- on me. I felt like I was straight up out of a Tommy Bahama catalogue. But then, I got to the beach and it all felt right. This awesome floral print jumper from ASOS has pockets and are what summer dream vacays are made of.
John and I are currently at the Homestead celebrating our anniversary, and if it weren’t for the rain, you can bet this post would have been done a few days later. However, with only a few precious weeks left this summer, I felt compelled to hop on my laptop and share some fun jumpsuits for the end of summer days with you! Jumpsuits make life so so easy. No need to put together a full outfit, when you can just throw one on and VOILA! Shop our favorite picks below.
It is that time of year again, and although we truly feel like we have time traveled through this year (this summer especially) due to how fast it has been flying by, one of the reasons we are not complaining about this time traveling is bc the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is HERE! We have been reading about (and anticipating) this sale for days and days and we have fairly picked what is the best of the best for this Anniversary Sale for our faves, YOU!
We personally look forward to splurging on things like beauty products, handbags, and shoes when this Nordstrom sale rolls around because that is where we find ourselves paying full price more often than not. You know, your favorite perfume to a trusty pair of black boots to last you all year that you look for regardless of a sale? That is what we are talking about. Who doesn’t love a good deal on things that you are going to purchase anyway? NOT US.

One of my favorite things about being a duo is being able to share clothes. This probably isn’t the first time I’ve talked about this on the blog, but there it is! Before I left for Chicago, I went over to Catherine’s and raided her closet. I borrowed a camo jacket, that I wore everyday (seen in my insta here), and a couple of other pieces. I couldn’t help but grab this red dress, even though I knew I probably wouldn’t wear it on our trip. And alas, I didn’t. But I did wear it to play dress up in the back yard before a date night with John! Cath has a real eye for picking out dresses that are going to make a statement and this red dress is no different! (more…)
It’s no secret that I have been wearing these polka dot culottes on repeat. I wore them for John and my trip to Blenheim and have pretty much been wearing them a couple times a week since. If you follow me on insta-stories you definitely have seen these quite a few times. There is no shame in outfit / piece repeating, folks, especially when you find something that you really like! So this outfit is a little bit of a remix from that Blenheim look, and the look that I wore when John and I went to see RENT a couple of weeks ago.
This post was sponsored by Dansko + Zappos but all opinions are my own.
This past weekend, we had the pleasure of traveling up to New York for the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic and boy, was it a fabulous weekend! There will be plenty more photos and details about that in the coming weeks, but for now, I want to talk about one of the true heros of the day: the Dansko’s Octavia.
Leading up to our trip, I knew that I wanted the day to go perfectly, and there were so many factors that would go into that. Arrival time, a good night’s sleep, a fabulous outfit, and a pair of shoes that would last me the entire day.
I have to admit it had been a few years (okay, maybe closer to 15) since I have owned a pair of Danskos, but when they reached out with their exclusive Zappos campaign, I immediately fell in love with this pair. And then I fell in love with them again once I finally put them on! It was obviously important for me to look my very best for the Polo Classic and these shoes provided the perfect combo of style and comfort that I was looking for. Whether you are looking to up your summer shoe game with everyday comfortable shoes, or are looking for a great pair of heels to top of your outfit, I highly recommend checking out the collection that Dansko has to offer on Zappos!
I have no doubt that this pair is going to be in heavy rotation when it comes to my shoe choices this summer.
Need more reasons to shop at Zappos?
1. Free + Fast Shipping – seriously, I think my shoes got here in 2 days.
2. 365 Day Return Policy – you know, just in case the shoe doesn’t fit.
3. The selection is AMAZING. So many great choices, my shopping cart is practically always full.
John and I have been wine club members at Blenheim for years now. Actually, I may have even been a wine club member before we met, so that means I’m going on 5 years now, and wow, the progress I’ve seen throughout the years is amazing. From my first late fall trip to the winery, it was love at first site. Upon entering the tasting room with the vast ceilings and wooden beams, I felt right at home! Then I tasted the wine, and the rest is history.
WELP, just as I suspected, we completely skipped spring here in RVA, folks. We went from 50/60 degree days to a sweltering 90 in a matter of days. Virginia weather is always so unpredicatable! ANYWHO. John and I have been doing some major work around our house, and I have discovered a new obsession for plants. A few weekends ago, we went to Lowe’s to get some hanging ferns for the front porch, and ended up going back later that day to work on our potted plant game. So far, my roses are blooming beautifully, but the hydrangeas are looking TRAGIC. I think I’ve got a lot to learn.
