Having gotten married, been a bridesmaid for two of my best friends, and being the sister of a bride-to-be, I consider myself pretty well versed in wedding etiquette, do’s and don’ts etc. I am constantly sharing my knowledge of such things with Cath, and I like to think that she listens to me at least 50% of the time. Par example: I know the groom shouldn’t see the wedding dress before the big day; I know you have a year to get the couple a wedding gift; I know you MUST send Thank You Notes – I could go on and on. I also know the superstitions: Wear a veil to ward of bad vibes, wear Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, and Something Blue.
The latter of which brings me to my favorite part of this outfit: the shoes. These are the shoes that I wore on my wedding day and I think its safe to say that they are one of my most prized possessions. (Who hasn’t always wanted the perfect pair of Manolo’s in this Carrie Bradshaw influenced day & age?) What I don’t know is if it is bad luck / frowned upon to wear your wedding shoes after the wedding. I’m sure I can find the answer to this question on google in 30 seconds, but for the purpose of this post: I have no idea and frankly, I don’t really care because they are just too beautiful to be kept in a box for the rest of my life.

June 9, 2016 at 3:49 pm (8 years ago)Love the idea of wearing blue shoes as your ‘something blue!’ And you can never go wrong with Manolos… I almost got some for my own wedding but ended up getting a Kate Spade glittery pair instead. Love this look on you!
