Our Abercrombie loving 90’s souls are just so happy about the resurgence of the graphic tee. Here are some of our favorites out there right now – some classics, some revamped and we threw in a few of our recent beauty product finds as well.
As I have mentioned on here recently, John and I recently moved into our first home, and boy, has it been a roller coaster. We are having our housewarming party this weekend and I have been running around like a crazy woman trying to get things just the way we want them. Thankfully, the kitchen is looking positively awesome thanks to these awesome new prints from Minted. When trying to decide what we wanted to do with each room, I knew that this little corner of our kitchen needed to catch your eye right when you walk in the door.
Ever since I was a little girl, we have been vacationing in the panhandle on the beautiful Gulf Coast of Florida. My grandad lived there for as long as I can remember and all of my best memories are from riding bikes in the summer, beach-ing for hours with my sister and best friend, Anna, every summer. It has been a few years since I had spent the week down there, and boy, it was just as great as I remember it. It was really awesome for our family to be able to cut out a few days of our busy schedules to have a mini-reunion of sorts. It also was a time for celebration, as my sister, Caroline, recently got engaged and we are in the throws of all of the planning! Another special part of the trip was being able to share this special place and loads of memories with my husband, John. (more…)
I hope everyone had the best holiday weekend! I spent mine celebrating one of my best friends at her bachelorette party. A bunch of fabulous girls from NYC, Maryland, and Charlotte gathered in RVA for a fun-filled bachelorette weekend and I have to say, I had so much fun showing off all that this city has to offer! I wore these culottes so much over the course of the weekend, but it was so hard not to with all of the compliments I got on them (Zara does it again) and how COMFY they are! (more…)
The rvaPin series continues to be one of the most meaningful and enlightening projects Rebecca and I have been apart of as The Crystal Press. From benefiting foster children to supporting youth art with local restaurants, the entire project has been really inspiring for everyone around us. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, Visit Richmond introduces a pin series supporting Richmond Cycling Corps in collaboration with Rappahannock Restaurant.
Even if you haven’t been to Rappahannock Restaurant or their new addition, Rapp Session, we are willing to be you have heard about it. There is no shortage of buzz about Travis + Ryan Croxton’s restaurants and for good reason. Rappahannock sits on a beautiful corner of E Grace Street in downtown RVA and serves beautiful and delicious entrees (and cocktails, see the picture below for proof) supported by sustainable farming techniques. From Travis Croxton being named “Restaurant World-Power of the Year” by Zagat to a Richmond Magazine Elby award, it’s safe to say Rappahannock has got it going on. Keep reading to find out how you can make the perfect excuse to try out (or indulge again) this fabulous establishment! (more…)
The combination of us moving into a new house + the beginning of the summer has led to some serious shopping sprees for me. Many of those shopping carts that had been filled up and abandoned, have been seriously revisited as of late. It has something to do with the epic feeling of new beginnings and the inevitable desire to update my wardrobe for the summer. With John being a teacher, he tends to make it home before I do and lately I can count on texts rolling in around 4’oclock asking me “what have you done now?” Countless Free People, Nordstrom & Victoria’s Secret packages have been arriving on our doorstep and what can I say – I just can’t help it.
Last summer, I told you guys that I was beginning my adventure with the Marie Kondo method – aka trying to clean up my living space. It is almost a year later and I can tell you that the adventure is just that, an long adventure, but I am finally moving into the phase that involves changing up my art! I had so much fun scouring the minted website filling up my cart with way too many things, narrowing it down, then filling it up again. The decision between which prints was harder than I anticipated because minted is flooded with so many talented, independent artists but the process was so enjoyable!
