Comfortable Outfit for a Four Seasons Miami Getaway

Craving a quick and easy beach getaway from Richmond, Va that won’t involve a long flight? Look no further than the Four Seasons Miami. A quick flight to Fort Lauderdale and an uber ride will get you there in no time from Richmond!

If you saw my Instagram post on cathclaire the other day, you know that I had a serious Rebecca Bloomwood (from the Shopaholic series) moment the other day with these black and white plisse culottes. I put yet another pair of these pants from ASOS into my online shopping cart, not because the pair I already own were ruined, but because I miss them when they are getting cleaned! If that isn’t an indication of how much I love or how I wear these, then I don’t know what is.

I love these culottes and I have rocked them with nearly everything in my closet. From sweaters and adidas sneakers (see the blogpost here) to this cropped black top and Jeffrey Campbell heels, the options are truly endless with these black and white beauties! I loved that I could repurpose them for this birthday trip to Miami with my hubby. I wore this outfit on our second night there to the Miami Heat playoff game. I am in no way sporty spice but MAN did I have a great time at this basketball game. I have decided that it is my favorite live sport to watch.

If you are looking for a quick beach trip to take, I highly recommend traveling to Miami for a long weekend. I know I don’t have to tell you which hotel I recommend because you already know 🙂

Day 1 in Athens, GA

A couple weeks ago, I took John down to Athens, after years and years of promising I would do so! I went to UGA my first year of college and the town has had a special place in my heart ever since. I couldn’t wait to show John my favorite spots, and explore some new places with him.  (more…)

HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY CATHCLAIRE

HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY TO THE GEM OF A WOMAN THAT IS CATHERINE

I am so excited to celebrate our blonde half todayyyyyy on The Crystal Press. We have come so far since the early days of TCP and this journey would be absolutely no fun at all without you.  From our travels together, to our latest venture (mostly on your part) of learning about our human design profiles, you have taught me so much.  You’ve taught me so much about myself, about how to work as a duo and how to step out of my comfort zone on so many levels. This year is going to be full of many more adventures, many, many more outfits and hopefully will be full of love and laughter. I can’t wait to celebrate you tonight in true Cathy fashion.

Make sure you’re following along with us on insta-stories to join in the celebrations! We’ll probably be posting on all threeeee: @cathclaire, @thecrystalpress, @rebeccapiersol

Happy May loves!

Where are my fellow May babies at? I am aware that I am 100% biast in saying this but May is my all-time favorite month of the year and has been since I was a wee one. There is so much to celebrate in the month of May: me (LOL), the warm weather, college graduations, weddings, fellow Taureans and more! Whether you are looking for a gift for yourself or to celebrate someone special in your life –  I am sharing some items (both ones that are affordable and a bit of a splurge) that I have my eye on as a kind of birthday wishlist. Most of the products I chose are from online shopping hubs like Netaporter, ASOS, and Shopbop. Let me know what you think! I hope this makes a shopping occasion for you easier! xo

Life Happens, Pizza Helps

Because we’ve all had that day where the only solution is pizza.

Mother’s Day Gift Guide

Moms always have our backs and we could all argue that every day should be Mother’s Day. But alas, popular culture has narrowed the official celebration down to a Sunday in early May.  Show your mama some extra love this year by adding to her gardening collection, her cooking collection or her growing clothes collection! We’ve picked out some gifts that we’ve got our eyes on to show your appreciation for those special women in your lives this year.

A Cathclaire Favorite: The Statement Blazer

While Cath is off celebrating her birthday early with a little R&R in Miami with her hubby Kev, I’m just sitting here constantly perusing the internet for some fun summer purchases. Cath is the queen of a good statement piece, and this gold jacket and her iconic hat are two great examples! A good blazer can be a great piece for laying in the spring/summer months for chilly nights etc so I’ve rounded up some blazers and other fun statement accessories that are worth investing in this summer.  (more…)

What’s in My Bag: Reb’s Purse Essentials

When I started on this blogging journey, my knowledge of ANY sort of beauty related products was extremely slim.  I picked up a few things from friends in college, and from my mom working at Saks, but I never really had strong preferences.  Along this adventure, I have discovered some tried and true products that I keep in my purse at all times.  Some, like Kate Somerville’s Depuffing balm, I first discovered from brand collaborations and have continued to use and others like the Too Faced Hangover Primer, I have learned from Cath.

In any case, here are the 7 products you can find in my purse on the reg.

Where to Stay in Athens, GA: Graduate Hotel

Last week, over John’s spring break, I had the *brilliant* idea to take him down to Athens, to show him around downtown and UGA. I only went to Georgia for my first year of college, but my besties there can attest to the fact that I visited atleast 3 times a year during our college years. The drive from Charlottesville was always a doozie, but totally worth it.  I’ve been telling John this for years, tried to make plans with our pals to meet up in Athens for a game, but alas, it just never happened.  So when we had the chance to choose a destination this April, I asked my friends if the Graduate if we could check out their property there.  (more…)

Shop the ShopBop Spring Sale!

We’ve still got two days left in the Spring ShopBop sale and its safe to say we have filled up our carts more than once over the past few days!! This is a great time to shop for designer pieces that you wouldn’t normally splurge on, because, well, 20% off! Here are a few of our favorite pieces from the sale, including some denim and handbags you should consider investing in.

In the market for a new bag? Use the ShopBop Sale for a new investment piece! 20% off up to $500 and 25% off $500 or more is a deal you don’t wanna miss! Having a great bag is often the icing on the cake when it comes to making a fabulous look. Here are some of our faves >>

And last but not least, one of our favorite mottos: invest in denim!! The right pair of jeans can last you YEARS. Honestly, I think I’m still wearing most of the pairs that I invested in during college today.  Good denim is definitely worth the pricetag.
