To all of the brides out there planning a wedding from home, do not get discouraged! Catherine found her dress online and it was picture perfect. Read on for her tips about finding the right dress <3
While choosing your wedding dress is the most fun part of wedding planning, it can be one task that the bride (YOU!) doesn’t prepare properly for to maximize your wedding dress dreams potential!! Here are our 6 tips on how to choose your wedding dress!
Let’s talk about hair accessories, y’all. Trends come and go in this fast fashion world that we live in, and we will hop on board with some of them. Some we will ditch as our styles continue to evolve, but some we will hang onto even after the mass craze is over! Headbands fall into the latter category. If you’re like me and tend to be lazy when it comes to doing your hair, a headband or headscarf can do wonders for adding a little something extra to your look!
We also love how playful & youthful a good headband can look. We might be into our thirties, but we love hanging onto our youthful spirits and this is one way to do that! Whether you like a simple handband, like Catherine is rocking, or you want something with a fun print, we have rounded up a few options to add a girly vibe to your look.

Does this outfit make me look like a Chik Fil A Commercial?
As we were walking through Scott’s Addition, a local favorite spot to take photos, Catherine & Kenzi told me that I “should wear that to get free Chik Fil A.” I started cracking up, because the thought hadn’t crossed my mind, even when realizing I was wearing a cow print set. There’s nothing quite like great friends to tell you the truth! (more…)
Denim tends to fall on the more casual side of dressing but with a few tweaks and accessories, you can dress up your denim for your next occasion in no time. There is nothing better than seeing a classic piece like denim jeans or denim jean shorts in a new light!
My favorite way to dress up denim is with a fierce blazer. What makes a blazer fierce? I love a blazer that is tailored for a slim fit but doesn’t look tight. I also prefer a longline lapel with a minimal amount of buttons like this white one from the ASOS Design line. If you are looking for an investment piece, blazers are a great investment to make because you will wear them for years to come. Balmain, anyone?
Another great way to dress up denim is with a pair of statement heels. I recently spotted Hailey Bieber (her style is amazing, am I right? Don’t get me started on her hubby L O L ) dressing up her denim ensemble with a pair of neon heels and I have never seen something look so RIGHT. Whether you are in the mood for a neon pop of color like Hailey or a metallic pop like moi, a pair of statement heels is a great way to elevate your denim look.
Last but not least, another way to dress up your denim is with lace texture. I love this black hat because it has a ribbon around it that creates a lace effect. The silk shirt I am wearing also has lace detailing throughout so it makes the top look dressier, especially at first glance. Even if lace isn’t your thing, find a texture that Is and use that to elevate your denim!
I hope you found some ways to dress up your favorite pair of denim anything – I know it is one of my favorite ways to make an outfit.
We’ve made a lot of sweeping generalizations and grand statements on here over the years about our “favorite pieces.” I’m not saying that some of them have been wrong, but I am saying
TBH, when I first ordered this bodysuit for a shoot with Kenzi & Cath, I wasn’t sure how I would feel about it. The whole idea of a body suit sounded uncomfortable and not very practical but I fell in love the first time I tried it on. You guys saw it in thelast postwith my favorite pair of pants & I got so many comments about the body suit that I took to IG TV with 4 new ways to style it. I was overwhelmed with your responses on the ‘gram so I decided to share the looks here as well!
{ Did I mention it’s now on sale for $32?!}
Let me know which is your favorite in the comments below!
When I polled you guys over on IG TV, everyone seemed to like the jeans look the best! I guess I just wasn’t thinking it was jeans weather right now, and honestly, I have been getting farther away from jeans and closer to loose fitting pants like the culottes in my last post! However, after hearing all of your feedback, I think once the cooler temps hit, I’ll be sharing more ways to style my favorite mom jeans with you guys.
~ SHOP THE JEANS LOOK ~
I pretty much style any new top with jean shorts, so nothing that new here! But this is a great casual weekend look, topped off with the classic white Vans.
~ SHOP THE JEAN SHORTS LOOK ~
Originally, this was my favorite look when I set up the IG TV poll, but like I said, you guys have me questioning that opinion lolol. I have been wearing these biker shorts on repeat ever since they landed on my door step and whaddya know, I actually wore them when John and I took a nice bike ride down in South Beach! IMO biker shorts are a must this summer.
~ SHOP THE BIKER SHORTS LOOK ~
I didn’t try this look on before I started filming my IG TV video and when I first put it on I was like “wow, this doesn’t work at all.” But then I rearranged where the bodysuit fell & had to tug at the dress lining and I think its actually A-OK! I scored this mini dress from Zara on major sale, but ASOS has some great options too. The black mini should definitely be a closet staple, especially in the summer! Make it interesting by layering with tees or a bodysuit!
I have found myself choosing black flats over my beloved heels more often than not over the course of the recent months and that, my friend, is a statement from cathclaire. I LOVE to wear heels – regardless of where I am going or the occasion – and to switch them out for flats used to seem sacrilegious! Not anymore. Can you blame me with the array of chic black flats that I have found while online shopping? I have linked a variety of black flats for you – from designer flats to pairs under 100 dollars.

Regardless of which pair you like best, these black flats will pair perfectly with anything you have in your summer wardrobe. From jeans to dresses, you can’t go wrong with a chic black flat. Shop away, bbs!
John and I had the pleasure of getting out of town for the weekend and staying at the Virginia Getaway House, a tiny house outpost near the Shenandoah National Park. Just an hour and a half away from Richmond, it was an easy trip, the last part of which was was beautiful back country roads. The check-in process was almost too easy, as they texted us the name of our cabin & the lock code on the day of and we could just pull right up and get in the tiny house with ease! We unpacked our cooler, brought our things inside and immediately got to some hard core relaxing.
I’m not going to say I’m lazy when it comes to doing my hair, but I’m lazy when it comes to doing my hair.
You guys already know that I love Not Your Mother’s brand products. Their dry shampoo is my go-to because they have a tinted product and the price tag is just so darn affordable. I was so excited when they sent me their Sea Salt Sprays to try this summer! I am truly lazy when it comes to doing my hair and lately, I tend to just throw it up in a bun and let it down a few hours later, hoping to create the perfect waves. But that was before I tried the Beach Babe Texturized Sea Salt Spray!
Guys, seriously, it is fabulous. It creates a texturized, matte finish for your hair, making you feel like a real live mermaid. I spray it liberally in my hair after the shower and give an all over scrunch and let it work its magic. It has a delicious coconut scent and makes me feel like the beach is just around the corner! Did I mention that it’s under $5 at Target? I KNOW. AMAZING. Do yourself a favor and try it out. It’ll help that summer feeling last even once September rolls around.
