Ok guys, this one is extensive and hopefully will be super helpful if you want our honest opinion about some of our favorite beauty products!
Cath is certainly considered the beauty expert of our duo, as I rarely wear make-up but I can definitely appreciate most of the products she picked on her best of list this year and some are my favorites as well.
Nars Eyeshadow Mini Palette: There is nothing more overwhelming than those huge eyeshadow palettes. So many colors and so many colors that could break if said palette is dropped. My solution? A great, high quality eyeshadow palette from Nars that has 6 colors instead of idk, 100? I love this palette in color suede. Whether you are in a matte mood or a shimmer mood, this Nars palette has got you covered with all of the neutrals.
Kevin and I are over the moon to announce that we are having a baby BOY in February. I’ll be honest, for the first few weeks – I 100% thought it was a girl and so did it everyone in my family. It was a huge surprise when the doctor told us we were having a boy, albeit a good one.
I get tears in my eyes when I see how FREAKING cute baby boy clothes are. Have you guys seen what is available on Zara, H&M and Gucci (obvi)? The options are endless. Let’s hope this little guy is cooperative in my dressing and fashion obsession!
I think God knew what he was doing when he made Baby S a boy. I grew up with 7 younger brothers – yes changing diapers and babysitting them – so the fact that Baby S is a boy eases me into this motherhood thing nicely. Let’s hope, at least. And let’s also hope that this baby gets my husbands good looks. <3
PS Thank you all for all of your tips and help on Instagram lately. From the best maternity leggings to help with picking strollers, your tips have been LIFE SAVERS.
AND YET AGAIN, we are back talking about one of our favorite things : Faux Fur! I feel like I was just writing about faux fur. *cue quintessential comment about time flying by* In any case, this is a trend that we can see ourselves rocking, well, forever, so each year we love to see what our favorite retailers have to offer when it comes to the seasons newest styles.
Cath scowered some of our faves retailers : ASOS, Nasty Gal, Urban Outfitters & Shopbop to find the best this year has to offer! From a simple black hooded number (the one I already ordered and love), to fun and funky patterns, there are all kinds of great options at a variety of price points out there! If you are looking for an investment piece that will last you for years to come, there are some great options out there if you are willing to spend a little more and of course, if you just want something new this year there are plenty of affordable pieces.
So, instead of rambling on about how and why we love faux fur (and you should too!) here’s an extensive list of great picks this season >>
We’re making a list and checking it twice!

If you’ve been a blogger as long as we have, you are a huge fan of one of the OG blog queens, Blair Eadie of Atlantic-Pacific. She was one of the first on the scene to really hit it big, and she has a unique style that she has carried through the years. I will never forget when Catherine & I spent an entire evening at a table next to her at one of the bars in the Nomad Hotel, and tried our best to keep our composure even though we were starstruck. It is so inspiring to us, as girls who have been at this for 5+ years now, to see how successful women have navigated this difficult, complicated world. Blair, if for some crazy reason you are reading this, HI!!
For as comfortable as I have always been in front of the camera, and on stage, and just as a lover of attention – I am sometimes awkward when it comes to in person interactions. The majority of the time, my travel photos are taken by John (or Catherine if I’m with her) because it just seems easier, even if they are just on my iPhone or a point-and-shoot! BUT, I have decided that I want to make an effort when I travel to meet and work with local creatives, because it really enhances my travel experience and I realized that working with professional photographers really helps to get my creative juices flowing. My two experiences doing this were AWESOME and I am writing this here, to remind myself (and encourage you) to keep doing so!
When I launched my pregnancy announcement, you guys were almost as excited about my outfit as you were about the pregnancy news! I am not going to lie, I loved the excitement. TBH, I put a lot of thought into this look – mostly because, well, I’ve never been pregnant before so it was quite the challenge to dress my beer belly. I mean, baby bump.
I love the tulle trend that has been rampant in the fashion world ever since Kendall Jenner stepped out in a beautifully dramatic pink tulle gown in Cannes in May. This dress was absolutely magical and was apart of designer Giambattista Valli’s couture collaboration with HM. Of course the collection (recently) sold out in minutes but you can check out the amazing dress aka work of art here, it’s jaw dropping!
When I was planning my pregnancy announcement, the gown Kendall wore wasn’t available yet. So I went to the next best thing, you guessed it, ASOS. After some deep searching within the ASOS dresses category, I discovered Flounce London. They have several tulle dress styles available for purchase and I chose the A Line tulle one because I knew that style would be a safe bet for my little baby bump. What better way to come out with your pregnancy news than with a little drama? If you want to keep your announcement more low key, I still recommend an A Line dress. They are super flattering and comfy in photos for this special occasion!
I don’t know why I am spending all of this time talking about my tulle dress when I think you guys went way more crazy over the boots. These boots make quite the statement and juxtapose the tulle perfectly. What are they? Jeffrey Campbell. I am going to be honest, they aren’t the easiest pair of shoes to walk in but boy do they pack a punch for any outfit. If you are looking for a shoe to level up any outfit, look no further than these boots!
I hope this post lives up to the hype and questions about my pregnancy announcement look. Thank you, thank you for all of your kind words about this exciting news! XO, Cathclaire
Cardigans & Pullover Sweaters, Knee High Boots & Combat Boots. A Blonde & a Brunette.
As you guys know, Catherine and I have a tendency to show up “matching” or rather, more accurately, coordinating, whenever we get together to shoot. We certainly each have our own styles but generally agree on our aesthetic { black & white, neutral, with a certain je ne sais quoi flair }.
You guys know we love Not Your Mother’s Products. This summer we fell in love with the Tinted Dry Shampoo, Blonde Moment Leave-In Conditioner, Shampoo & Conditioner and they are a part of our weekly hair routine. With the holidays around the corner, and all the inevitable parties and events that come with it, we wanted to introduce you to two other NYM products that will become your new getting ready BFFs!
I am 100% invested in being low-maintenance when it comes to doing my hair (Cath is WAY better at doing her hair than I am) so I need a very easy process. Typically it goes a little something like this:
After getting dressed & getting the rest of myself together, I will continue my routine with a hair dryer if need be!
Most people (including Cath) will use their curling wand, straightener etc at this part of the process, but I am pretty hopeless at curling my own hair so I usually skip this step to avoid a hair disaster.
Then it’s time to finish off the look with theGLISTEN UP. Or have your BFF help you finish off the look with Glisten Up { like in our fun little videohere}. What better way to complete your party ready look than with a shiny-do?
We love how easy & no-nonsense Not Your Mother’s Products are, how affordable they are (!!!) and how they actually WORK.
Grab Part Time & Glisten Up exclusively at Ulta and you’ll thank us later!
OKAY GUYS, LET’S GET RIGHT TO IT.I have been wanting to write this post for a while, especially because I see so many bloggers out there constantly posting about “dupes.”
When I say “Why I buy designer,” I don’t necessarily mean at designer prices. Lots of my designer pieces are consigned from The Real Real, Tradesy, Poshmark and eBay. What I should really say is that I like to buy quality over quantity. I realized a few years ago that the number of pairs of shoes or bags that I bought was absurd in comparison to how long they lasted me. I was spending hundreds of dollars a year on pieces that simply wouldn’t last. I thought I was being savvy by shopping from fast fashion retailers, but in reality I was spending the same amount of money on all of these crappy items as I would on a few quality, designer pieces. So that’s when I bought my first used Louis Vuitton off of Tradesy (pictured above) and asked for Gucci Slides for my birthday. (pictured below)
