Reb’s Pick: Marc Fisher Footwear

marc fisher bootiesHave you seen enough of these booties yet?

I hope not.  I have shared dozens of instagrams and a hand full of posts here on the blog featuring my white Marc Fisher combat boots.  I got them in the fall of 2018 and they have been a staple in my wardrobe ever since.  I paid full price at the time {$250} and wondered if my splurge would be worth it. But OH BOY WAS IT.  They are my go-to boot when I want to add a little zing to my look.  I think its the white with the black contrast laces that really make everything POP.

Over the past year and a half my Marc Fisher boot collection has grown to include a pair of flat, knee high boots, a pair of snake skin combat boots & most recently, a maroon patent leather pair.  The other thing? They’re all comfortable.  They don’t need any breaking in and not a single pair has given be blisters after first wear – which I gotta say, is hard to find! Marc Fisher makes so many great boots and they really do have something for everyone. Whether you want a heeled, knee high statement boot or just an everyday staple, they’ve got something for you.

I’ve rounded up some of my favorite photos for this post, showcasing the versatility of the boots. I am sharing 16 great pairs of boots (ON SALE!) below.

How I Upgraded my Life in 30 Days with Dr. Joe Dispenza

As seen on cathclaire.com

dr joe dispenza the crystal press blog

I have been a student of all things personal development since 2011. This obsession was sparked when the *hit* book The Secret by Rhonda Byrnes came out (see more about my feelings on The Secret here) and hasn’t stopped since. The Secret cracked open a part of me that I didn’t even know existed and ever since that book, I have been reading voraciously/watching videos on Youtubeabout anything and everything to do with quantum physics, the law of attraction, and beyond. It can get kinda esoteric and weird, in the best way.

TCP Tips: How To Stay Sane in 2020

Some tips that we are using to keep our mind and body right as we enter the new year! Some are probably new to you and some are pretty obvious, but you never know when you might need a reminder xx

EDIT:
we wrote this at the beginning of 2020 and little did we know how much we would REALLY need these tips this year.

1.Listen to Kelly Howell’s The Secret Universal Mind Meditation
Catherine wrote a pretty great blog post over on Cathclaire a while back on why you should listen to this life changing sleep meditation, but here I am to remind you that IT WORKS. Like she said, I can always tell the difference when I fall asleep listening to Kelly for days on end and when I don’t. The brain sync technology actually works and if you are like me and are pretty worthless at meditation : this is for you. All you have to do is listen, and seriously, you can simply fall asleep! I bought it on iTunes so I could have access to it anywhere and everywhere, but it’s also available for free on YouTube. Do yourself a favor and listen tonight as you fall asleep.

2. Keep an organized calendar
If you are as busy as we are, juggling multiple jobs, events, friends and family this is an absolute must. Personally, I have a Google calendar where EVERYTHING lives: a synced calendar with Johnny, a TCP calendar, daily and weekly reminders and I create an event for everything so I don’t forget. If you prefer a fancy app, or like to keep a hard copy planner with you, then do that! If you keep your schedule organized, I have found that great piece of mind comes with it.

Twinning In: Black Gucci tights

Photos by Halle Kennon Photography

You guys already know that we are no strangers to twinning. Over the years, from trips to fashion week and simply walking the streets of RVA, we have been known to do a little twinning. { You can even find us twinning over on Google Local Guides. } This is definitely not the first time we have shown up to a shoot, totally twinning, totally unplanned. Very fitting in this instance that we’d both be wearing the black Gucci tights.

When anyone asks me how our baby moon was, I am at a loss for words in the best way. All it takes is a quick glance at photos of the Four Seasons Surf Club property, just North of Miami Beach, to see how beautiful this destination is. From the design choices of the iconic Joseph Dirand – adding his book to my list of coffee table books for our new house!– to the history of The Surf Club (it was a playground for the rich and famous in the 1930s), this hotel oozes beauty at every turn. True life: every square inch is photogenic – like, hard to not have my phone out every second photogenic.I could go on and on and on about the beauty of the Four Seasons Surf Club but our baby moon was amazing for more reasons than just that.

How To Style Spanx Faux Leather Leggings

OKAY Y’ALL. I FINALLY HAVE THE SPANX LEGGINGS & THEY ARE MAGICAL.
they are currently on the Nordstrom Sale, too.

For years, I have watched every fashion blogger & friend I know raving about the Spanx faux leather leggings, but I never took the plunge.  $98 for leggings? They couldn’t be that great. However, I was sorely mistaken!! I actually snagged them on the Nordstrom Black Friday sale for my sister, but even then I didn’t think about getting them for myself. I thought I already had enough leggings. Wrong.

Best of 2019 on The Crystal Press

oh, 2019.

You were quite eventful! I think it is safe to say that 2019 was a year that we will never forget. Aside from Catherine being pregnant (which of course is absolutely life changing), we grew a lot as a duo! We worked with some great brands, found some great pieces to add to our wardrobes, read a lot, and wrote a lot.

We hope that you have learned a little something from us on here this year and that we have inspired you to live your very best life. We hope you have learned to love quality over quantity, and appreciate the power of manifestation and positivity. Drop a comment and let us know how you’ve learned from us this year – we always love to hear it 🙂

We have some lofty goals and exciting things planned for 2020, and we can’t wait to share it all with you. Make sure you subscribe to our email list so you don’t miss ANYTHING!

For now, here are a few of our favorite photos from this year! Shout out to Kaytee, Kenzi & Halle for capturing these moments <3

A Day with Common House Charlottesville

Common House is what we would call an inclusive – not exclusive – social club and a great place for creatives to commune, eat delicious food, do inspiring work, and drink amazing cocktails. I think it’s pretty obvious that The Crystal Press can’t wait to have Common House in Richmond, Va!

The two of us (in case you are new here, we are Cathclaire & Rebecca Piersol) had a girls day this weekend in Charlottesville with Common House and Need Supply. We have been cherishing these days as a twosome (lol, it’s like we are married or something) before Baby S arrives in Feb and when The Crystal Press got invited to check out Common House and the Need Supply Holiday pop up – we seized the opportunity!

Comfortiva ShoesThe name says it all. These are truly the most comfortable shoes we own, now! Comfortiva is dedicated to making shoes that are not only stylish and good looking, but also truly comfortable. They have a variety of styles of boots, booties, wedges and sandals – something for everyone. Catherine chose the Cantara in Caramel and I love how she styled them with the all black look! I think I can speak for her when I say that this far into her pregnancy, all she really wants is comfort and these shoes bring it!

NYE Looks: LBDs, Metallics & Sequins

Christmas is just over a week away, EEK! and New Years Eve is just over two weeks away, EEK! Whether you have plans to hit the town, or a simple dinner party with close friends, you still gotta have the perfect NYE look. We’ve had a not so surprising amount of NYE inspired looks over the years, as we tend to have two styles: simple & extra. If we aren’t sporting a casual, all black and neutral look, we are getting decked out in sequins. So we’ve rounded up a few of our style picks to help you get dressed for New Years.
