At the beginning of quarantine, Jamie Beck of Ann Street Studio started a series called Isolation Creation. Each day, for 60 days she took one photo, sharing on her instagram feed and has since decided to start selling prints of her creations. I discovered this brilliance a few weeks into the series and fell in love with her images. I have always been a huge fan of her photography and how she captures the true essence through her photos, but this series especially spoke to me. My favorite being the final piece, on Day 60. It reminds me of a Monet which brings me such joy.
Now, I am nowhere close to as talented as she, but it certainly inspired to do my fair share of isolation creating!

For years, I have watched every fashion blogger & friend I know raving about the Spanx faux leather leggings, but I never took the plunge. $98 for leggings? They couldn’t be that great. However, I was sorely mistaken!! I actually snagged them on the Nordstrom Black Friday sale for my sister, but even then I didn’t think about getting them for myself. I thought I already had enough leggings. Wrong.

Ever since the temperatures dropped, I have basically been living in my newly coined “winter uniform.” Well, actually, I have been wearing this oversized knit from boohoo throughout the fall and only when it got to be cool enough did I start to pair it with my fave trusty leggings + new boots from Marc Fisher! Each time I go to create a blog post about closet essentials, I don’t even mean to round up only black items, but alas it tends to happen quite frequently! It’s not that I don’t enjoy wearing colors and patterns, but when it comes to the basics, I find black is simply easiest. Every girl should have at least one oversized black sweater and pair of black boots in their closet and I have found that every couple years my collection needs a bit of an overhaul. (more…)
